About the Foundation
Est. 1974, the Chinook Scout Foundation raises and manages funds that support Scouting in Calgary, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, and more than 100 other communities across southern and central Alberta.
Our Story
The Chinook Scout Foundation was established in 1974 to assist with the long-term funding of the Chinook Council in Calgary. The Chinook Council is the sole beneficiary of the income generated from the Foundation.
Chinook Scout Foundation (CSF) provides financial assistance to families unable to afford membership fees and program costs, as well as scholarships to assist with post-secondary education. CSF generates income through annual fundraising events and our Founder's Circle members. The Foundation also manages an investment portfolio established by the Estate of Bert Sheppard in 1988, along with subsequent donors, as part of our planned giving program.
