Scholarships

Academic scholarships for students with a demonstrated history in Scouting who are pursuing post-secondary education at a university, college, or skilled trade program.

2026–2027 Academic Year

If you are enrolled in a university, college, or skilled trade program, you may apply for a Chinook Scout Foundation scholarship by emailing a completed application form to [email protected] by August 7, 2026.

The Foundation offers up to four new scholarships each year. An individual scholarship provides up to $5,000 annually for up to 4 years, pending continued full-time enrollment in post-secondary training. Students pursuing a skilled trade must be registered, working towards completing the required hours of work, and enrolled in the annually scheduled classroom training.

How Candidates Are Evaluated

  • Demonstrated Scouting history, involvement, and achievement
  • Leadership contributions to Scouting
  • Community leadership beyond Scouting
  • Attitude and aptitude

What to Include in Your Application

  • Completed application form
  • Personal statement (maximum 200 words) addressing the value of Scouting in your life
  • Two reference letters (one external to Scouting)
  • A copy of your resume
  • Your previous year's official transcript
  • Your current academic transcript or report card

How to Apply

Download and complete the application form, then email it along with your supporting documents to [email protected]. Once your application is received, Foundation staff will follow up if anything is missing, including reference letters or transcripts.
